Okay so this is a week and a half overdue but i can still vividly remember it, better late then never!
BEFORE: I woke up at 7:45 on Saturday morning (3/8/08), more psyched then ever. Its been like 2 months since ive seen my boys in We The Kings and ive missed them so much since the music video shoot. I got all ready by like 9 and texted Alex and Nicki to see if we could pick them up early so we could get online for the Noon show at like 10:15. But of course Nicki wasnt gonna be ready by then so we decided to get her last. So at like 9:30 my mom picked me up and took me to get money and red bull, then we got Alex and Nicki and headed out to the Crazy Donkey in Farmindale, which was 45 minutes away. On the way there it started pouring like crazy and i realized that we didnt have an umbrella so we searched the car and found this tiny one and i was happy with it.
ON LINE: We got to the venue at like 10:45; after pulling into 2 wrong parking lots. The line wasnt that bad but we were out in the open not under the awning(sp?). I saw my girls from the video shoot (Leigh & Cynthia)i chatted with them for a bit the we got onto the line by the "Kings Carriage" (as its known to fans- aka tour bus) and i turned and saw Drew Thomsen(WTK)! I was so excited because him and Danny are the only ones i havent met, so we ran over and T-Fair(tour manager) was standing behind him with a security guy like kinda trying to get him away but we wouldnt let him. We got a group picture of all 4 of us, he was so adorable wearing a beer-drinking hat with his name on it, flip flops and shorts in like barely 40 degree weather. Then we went to get online again, we stood there for like 5 minutes before i saw Hunter Thomsen(WTK) come out of the bus and sprinted over to him with Nicki and Alex. We waited longer to get to talk to Hunt because there were these girls in front of us who were a tad bit obnoxious. One girl said to Hunter "Can i get on your back?" and he was like "Uhhh i dont think i could carry you, but i guess" all reluctlantly. We all turned around and were freaking out hysterical laughing! Then he got to us and was like "Its a little moist out" and i was like "yupp thats rain for you" (laughs) Then it was picture time and Nicki was like "Hey, uh do you want to get on my back?" and he laughed(adorableee). During our pictures he was like "I LOVE UMBRELLAS!" and i instantly began to finish with "ellas ellas ellas eh eh eh." Finally we got on line for good and met these cool girls behind us who ended up sharing out umbrella. At one point it started monsooning for like 20 mins with insanely strong wind and painful rain. We all got soaked. It was really really uncomfortable but we dealt with it, but soon my Red Bull started to kick in and i was off the walls(like i always get) plus some because i was so excited for the show. I kept counting down the minutes until they finally let us in. As the line moved up 4 more girls from my school got there and the ended up cutting the line and getting in with us. The people who were at the Will-Call booth told me i couldnt take my camera in, they thought it was professional, but it wasnt and i didnt feel like fighting with them so i gave it to my mom.
SHOWTIME: We got in and were like 3rd row towards the right side of the stage and i was so glad we got good spots. But there were these really big girls next to us who were freaking insane and tried to get into a fight with my friend Steph who we met there. Like these girls were out of their minds and thought the were the shit, which they werent and they were really obnoxious. Ive honestly never heard such horrible words come out of a girls mouth, it was disgusting. I kinda distanced them from myself cause i didnt want them ruining my time. So now i was like almost center stage and amped! When it finally started i found out that Metro Station wasnt there, which made me kinda upset, but there was this guy Doug who did like acoustic Decaydance songs. I thought he was really good, he like made all the songs Michael Buble-esqe. Next was The Cab, ive known about them since like Nov-Dec 06 and i loved thier music so i was psyched to see them. They were soo good and there new stuff is really catchy. The did a cover of the song I'll Be and it was AMAZING!! and they were like "We love love songs" so i turned to Alex and was like "imagine if they covered Love Song by Sara Bareilles?" which of course they started playing 20 seconds later and the girl behind us goes "Nice call" to me. haha sweet!But they only did up to the chorus of Love Song and were like JUST KIDDINGGGG. Next came We The Kings and i was so ready to go all out for their set. There were these poles in the middle of the floor and i was right next to one so i stood on my toes and leaned againist it so i could be the tallest around. I completely went insane for the boys and they sounded amazing! I made eye contanct with Travis like 7 times and was freaking out like never before at a concert. At one point Hunter and Trav were talking and trying to finish a sentance one word each, they were like.
Hunter:"The
Trav:"Really"
Hunter:"Really"
Trav:"Ridic-"
Hunter:"Ridiculously"
Trav:"what?"
Hunter:"what?!"
Trav:"Good Looking"
Hunter:"Tour!"
It was soo funny, i love them so much! Then they played the rest of their songs and Travis talked about how goodlooking WTK fans are. Then when they played Secret Valentine, Travis was like "HEY Shut off all the lights! Now you can make out with whoever you want and not get in trouble!" And i was like WOW i could not love him more! After WTKs set i felt really dizzy(i was insanely sick the day before) so me and Alex went to the back to get merch and give Travis his present.
MEETING FOLKS: We went to the merch table and i got a sweatshirt from Bill Doc and we looked at all the other bands merch and watched Cobra from over by the bar. Gabe is so adoreable, he came on stage wearing glasses and was so cute. They preformed really well, and for the rap in Kiss My Sass Cash from The Cab came out and did sooo good on it! While we were waiting we met Ian from the Cab, Alex M from The Cab and Doug. They were all so nice. When we met Alex M he was like "Hi im Alex" and went to shake our hands, and Alex was like "So am i!" and he gave her a hug. I was like aww(puppy face) and he gave me a hug too. After Cobra's set we waiting and i saw bright red hair and freaked out. I went over and waited for people to take pics and talk to him then it was my turn. I told him how they told me on myspace to get a shirt for Travis that had a local team on it, so i play badminton so i told him how we were undefeated for 35 years and in Guiness book for it. He was so happy to get it (like genuinely happy) and he said it was the coolest thing ever. I was so nervous meeting him again, even though the first time i met him we like hung out all day with the other extras at the shoot and like i ate his chinese food off his plate, i guess im weird like that though. Anyway then we found Nicki and the other girls from my school and i introduced Nicki to Travis and they talked and took pictures. Then we went outside and talked to Alex M and Cash from The Cab some more and took pictures. Then it was time to go.
We waited outside for Alexs dad and Nicki like cut the line to meet Alex Suarez and Gabe, but only met Alex cause we had to leave.
Basically this was the 2nd best day of my life; the first being the We The Kings Video shoot. Im honestly love these boys, there the nicest people ive ever met and true inspirations to me. I wish them the best in their career and hope that they can make others as happy as they've made me. [:E |
